MSC COLLECTION FROM ADIPOSE TISSUE

Mesenchymal stem cells from adipose tissue (ASCs) hold the capacity to differentiate into various cell types, including osteocytes, chondrocytes, and adipocytes, making them invaluable for mending damaged tissues. Moreover, they release growth factors that foster tissue regeneration. Beyond repair, ASCs display anti-inflammatory prowess, modulating immune cell activity.
This versatility renders autologous fat tissue implantation, a minimally invasive procedure that harnesses a patient’s fat tissue, a promising option for addressing degenerative conditions like osteoarthritis, tendon and ligament repair, and soft tissue reconstruction.
Enter LIPO-STEM™and LIPO-STEM DUO™, specialized, closed circuit, disposable systems designed for lipoaspirate collection, purification, and microfragmentation without the use of enzymes or centrifugation. These devices preserve the structural integrity of vascular stromal niches within lipoaspirate while enhancing the cells’ responsiveness to regenerative signals.
SURGICAL PROCEDURE

1.
The procedure begins with the patient being positioned on a surgical bed and receiving local anaesthesia, with the option of mild sedation, if needed.
Klein solution is prepared and infiltrated into the area where fat tissue should be harvested, to cause temporary vasoconstriction, reducing bleeding and creating the necessary tumescence for liposuction.

2.
After a few minutes from the infiltration, A VacLok syringe is connected to a cannula and used to suction out the fat, typically from the abdomen, hips or thighs.

3.
Lipoaspirate is introduced into our LIPO-STEM™ or LIPO-STEM DUO™ device, previously filled with saline solution, to undergo the process of washing and purification; this step is important to ensure that the fat is clean and free of any debris, or bloody or oily residues.

4.
A gentle move on the filter with the provided spatula microfragments the adipose tissue and facilitates its complete washing.

5.
The processed fat is an autologous adipose fluid tissue of pale yellow colour that can be reinjected into the body using small-diameter needles.
