Chorionic villi sampling kit

SET VILLOCENTESI™ has been designed for taking chorionic villi samples and amniotic liquid from pregnant women for prenatal diagnosis.
  • Diagnosi prenatale
  • It is composed of two co-axial needles with a 3 cm or 5 cm length difference. The shorter needle is used as an introducer for the second needle, which is used to collect the sample.
  • The set is available in two different versions: Chiba tip or modified Chiba tip.
  • The sliding stopper and inner echogenic marker allow monitoring of the depth reached.
  • The needle is equipped with a universal Luer-Lock connector and a transparent plastic grip through which the passage of liquids can be verified.
  • MEA/LAL tested for safety and biocompatibility.

Chorionic villus sampling (CVS) is a prenatal diagnostic procedure that allows for the early detection of genetic conditions in a fetus. The SET VILLOCENTESI™ is specifically designed to facilitate this procedure by safely collecting chorionic villi or amniotic fluid. It consists of two coaxial needles: a shorter one that serves as an introducer and a longer one for sample collection.

Under ultrasound guidance, the doctor inserts the introducer needle into the placenta or amniotic sac, ensuring precise positioning. The second needle is then advanced through the introducer to obtain the sample.

Features such as a sliding stopper and echogenic marker help monitor insertion depth, while the transparent grip allows real-time visualization of fluid passage. The Luer-Lock connector ensures secure handling during collection.

This minimally invasive technique provides essential information about the baby’s genetic health, aiding in early medical decisions.
