SPEEDYBELL DOPPIA CORSA™
Semi-automatic guillotine needle for soft tissue biopsy with 10 mm or 20 mm collection area
SPEEDYBELL DOPPIA CORSA™ is used for biopsies of the breast, liver, kidney, prostate, pancreas and lungs due to its ability to obtain high-quality histological samples with controlled precision.
- The distinctive feature of this needle is the possibility of choosing between a 10 mm or 20 mm sample cavity.
- The echogenic marker on the end of the cannula allows constant monitoring of the needle position during the biopsy.
- The centimetre depth markings on the cannula enable precise control of the depth reached.
- The ring handle ensures a secure grip and easy handling during the biopsy procedure.
- The precise cutting action ensures high-quality histological samples.
- The manual control allows the operator to make adjustments during the procedure.
- The design minimizes trauma and bleeding risk, especially in vascular organs.
- The needle is compatible with imaging guidance (US, CT, EUS) for accurate targeting.
- The SPEEDYBELL DOPPIA CORSA™ needle can be equipped with a coaxial introducer needle (INTRODUTTORE™), recommended for biopsies requiring multiple samples (e.g., mammary biopsies).
SPEEDYBELL DOPPIA CORSA™ features a spring-loaded cutting mechanism that provides a clean, sharp tissue cut while allowing for manual control over sample retrieval.
- Breast Biopsy: used for diagnosing suspicious lesions detected via mammography or ultrasound.
- Liver Biopsy: used to assess liver disease, tumours, or fibrosis progression.
- Kidney Biopsy: helps diagnose nephropathies and transplant rejection.
- Prostate Biopsy: Typically performed under TRUS (transrectal ultrasound) guidance to diagnose prostate cancer.
- Pancreas Biopsy: Often performed under endoscopic ultrasound (EUS) guidance for diagnosing pancreatic tumors or cysts.
- Lung Biopsy: used to diagnose lung nodules, cancer, and infections.
CT-guided procedures benefit from the semi-automatic cutting action, allowing rapid tissue acquisition while minimizing lung trauma.
Surgical Technique:
- Insert two fingers into the rings and, with the other hand, pull the rear knob back to the first click for a 10 mm notch or to the second click for a 20 mm notch.
- Insert the needle into the selected biopsy site, maintaining the needle’s position and orientation.
- Push the rear knob fully forward to perform the sampling.
- Gently withdraw the needle from the patient.
- To expose the sample and transfer it onto a microscope slide, reload the needle and push the knob forward for three-quarters of the stroke.
