RENOVA SPINE™ is a minimally invasive system for kyphoplasty procedures to treat fractures, restore vertebral body height and reduce back pain.

A vertebral compression fracture (VCF) occurs when the vertebral body fractures and collapses due to osteoporotic conditions, tumours (e.g. myeloma) or trauma.

The principle of kyphoplasty is to restore vertebral body anatomy gently and progressively by inflating balloons and then reinforcing the anterior column of the vertebra with cement. The balloons create a cavity within the vertebral body, compressing the cancellous bone and thus limiting the risk of cement leakage from the vertebral body.

The balloon catheter is then deflated, and the cavity created is now filled with bone cement, avoiding any leakage.

used for initial bone access to the vertebra in the kyphoplasty procedure with the classic approach. Composed of an external cannula, an internal stylet with a ‘Trocar’ tip and a plastic ergonomic handle.

– WORKING CANNULA AND EXPANDER

This device allows the creation of the working channel through which it’s possible to complete the kyphoplasty steps. After the access to the vertebral body, the inner cannula is removed and only the external cannula remains in the patient and acts as an introduction/working channel for the subsequent tools used in the kyphoplasty procedure.

– BONE FILLER

The cement infusion cannula consists of a steel cannula with a plastic handle, equipped with a pusher stylet that allows the gradual introduction of the cement into the vertebral body of the patient. The plastic handle has a universal Luer-lock connection for the filling of the cannula with bone cement.
